Help with Family Friendly Birding Locations
Do you have a favorite birding spot in Delaware, Pennsylvania, or Maryland? The DOS Youth Birding Committee wants to know! We are looking to organize information about the best places for families to go birding in the region, but we can't do it without your help. Fill out the survey by clicking the button and tell us all about where you like to go birding and the features that make it great!

About Red Knot Youth Birders
The Red Knot Youth Birders is a free to join group of school-aged young people who enjoy the excitement and experience of watching birds. The club is sponsored and supported by the Delaware Ornithological Society, a regional organization dedicated to the study and appreciation of bird life of Delaware.
We have a Facebook page Red Knot Youth Birders where you can find information and ideas on birding with the children in your family.
Who Can Participate
School-age children (ages 6 to 18) are eligible to participate in this club. Adult family members are strongly encouraged to accompany children involved in club activities. The success of this club is built upon the support of adults participating along with youth.
Club Leaders
Delaware Red Knot Youth Birders' field trip leaders are experienced birders and educators. Program instructors also include professional ornithologists, wildlife managers, and authors.
Why Birding?
Birding is an exciting and entertaining outdoor activity. By watching birds, we see amazing behaviors and events that connect us to the natural world. Learning about birds and sharing the outdoor experience with friends are important aspects of birding.
