Spend the morning birding at Cape Henlopen!
We’ll meet at the Fishing Pier parking lot & spend an hour there looking for scoters and loons. Then we’ll walk to the Nature Center targeting migratory and resident songbirds including brown-headed nuthatches. Next we’ll drive to the point and walk down to the bay shore to look for waterbirds with a focus on the rare piping plover. We can finish with a stop at the hawk watch platform scanning for raptors and swallows on the move. Park entry fees are in effect.
