DOS May Meeting: “UD Student Presentations”

Four students from the University of Delaware in Jeff Buler’s lab will be give short presentations on their bird related research projects. See below for more details.
Claire Bernard is an undergraduate student doing her senior thesis. Her talk is “Identifying Purple Martin Diet and its Effect on Nestling Development”. This is research that she’s been working on at Longwood Gardens.
Meredith Lewis is a PhD student at UD. She will be speaking on “Secret Journeys: Following an Elusive Rail (Porzana carolina) out of the Marsh and into the Air”
Annis Hidayati is a PhD student and a Fulbright Fellow from Indonesia. Her talk is “Species composition in mixed-flocks in the Mid-Atlantic and Mississippi during migratory seasons”.
Shelly Eshleman is a PhD student in my lab. Her talk is “Dela-where the birds go: Motus bird movements in the Delmarva Peninsula”. She will talk about the importance of the Delmarva peninsula for avian species as reflected in telemetry data from the Motus Wildlife Tracking System.
